How long should I be resting between sets in the AMRAP GPP work? Jordan mentioned keeping the rest period short, so I’ve been resting about 20 seconds, but the number of reps that I can do in the following set drops way down. So the first set might be 15 reps at RPE 8, the second set 10, then down to 6. Would I be better with longer rest periods? It feels more like myoreps with the short rest period.
Thanks for all the great templates, by the way.
Andrew
I’d still recommend 20-30 seconds, but would keep the RPE per set at about 8 or so. Don’t go to failure.

Thanks Jordan,
I’ll stick to the 20-30 seconds.
What’s the logic of not going to failure? Is it to prevent injury? Or does it slow down hypertrophy or muscle growth?
Andrew
You don’t need to go to failure for any particular reason, though going to failure increases the amount of fatigue generated when compared to if you did not go to failure.
So, we’d like to get the appropriate stimulus without a bunch of excess fatigue.
