Sets with asterisk clarification

Starting GPP endurance template today.

When a set from week 2 onwards is denoted with an asterisk, does this mean that set numbers should be cut early if the RPE hits 9? In the context of trying to beat the previous week’s numbers are we trying to account for fatigue? Conversely should set numbers increase past 3 if RPE remains at 8 on the goal weight?

Thanks,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
That indicates that IF the RPE is creeping up to @9 for those repeated sets, you will take 5% off the bar and continue on with the prescribed sets and reps. You want to keep the volume the same and decrease the bar weight if needed to stay close to RPE 8 for those sets. You will not add more sets to the prescribed work, and it is very possible that you will be able to stay @8 for those sets across on many of your training days.

Thanks Leah. The Excel file also has nowhere to log press work sets, nor is it included in the analysis tab. Is this in error?

Thanks Leah. The programme includes pressing as a main lift but there’s nowhere to log it. Doesn’t appear in the analysis either. Is there a corrected version for this?

We just log the press as a supplemental bench lift and it is not currently tracked in the analysis page, no.
