I have been dealing with some low back pain for approximately two months and has gotten quite a bit worse over the last couple of weeks. The pain is most noticeable when deadlifting, rack pulls, and squatting at times. It does not hurt when doing my regular activities during the day except for when I bend over with a rounded lower back. I can alleviate the pain when I adjust my lower spine to neutral or hyperextension. This week I did a 1RM for 500 lbs with some back off sets and it has seemed to really flare up after that. The pain is EXTREMELY sharp when I apply direct pressure to this area of my lower back. I have spoken with some people that have mentioned “spondylolysis” or even a small fracture of my spinous process of one of my lumbar vertebrae? I have no/very limited medical background and want to see if this is even close to being right in your guy’s opinions. A reason that was mentioned to me was overextension in the lockout of my deadlift? This does make a little sense to me because I feel pain when standing up and over extending my lower back like I do at the top of my deadlift.
I really really want to continue to train through this so any advice would be so much appreciated! Thanks a lot!
