Shortchanging oneself by high volume early in career?

Just want to start out by saying I appreciate your time and work.

Is it detrimental to use more training volume than we need to drive progress? I’ve heard some coaches talk about this, and how it can be bad because it makes for less “leeway” to increase volume further when we actually stall. Therefore it’s better to increase it very gradually and maybe even lean on the side of beeing conservative. So even if high volume leads to better progress short term, for the long term it could actually be worse than beeing more conservative? What’s bbm view on this?

I’ve completed LP early January this year and have been doing a free early intermediate 3 week 4 days per. week program writted by a top powerlifter. I’m making good progress but worried that it might be more work than I really need like I talked about above. Here’s what the first week of it looks like and the volume is pretty similar the next weeks. Should I stop and do the bridge which I think is abit lower in volume or just keep on? I think i’m what you classify as training resistant (done LP a few times and never been able to go past 105kg squat, 65kg and 115kg deadlift)

Nah, I think the biggest potential risk is injury if there’s too much fatigue, but otherwise I don’t think that argument holds water even though I’ve definitely hinted at that before.

Thanks for the response, that’s good to know.
