i am currently on week 3 of powerlifting II after finishing hypertrophy II which i saw great progress from.
me and some freinds are going to have a mock meet some time in early june. However my programme shouldn’t finish untill the start of july due to delays from gyms being closed. I am wondering what the best way would be to shorten the programme to finish 2-3 weeks earlier still with a peak.
I’m not sure that I’d worry about altering the program prior to finalizing a date for the mock meet, as it may end up coinciding nicely. In any case, once you know the date of the mock meet- I’d just time that up with the end of the program.
I’m more concerned about how i would go about timing the end of the programme with the meet, for example if it needed to be a week shorter would a good option be to cut out one of the developmental weeks, as i would think that taking out one the specialisation weeks would have more of an impact on preformance on meet day for example. and would the same go for two weeks or mabye 3, although i realise that 3+ weeks is starting to change the programme more significantly for a time frame that is wasn’t designed for.
I tend to lean the opposite direction, e.g. cutting out a developmental week being more detrimental than a specialization week though I think it probably doesn’t matter much.
In any case, I would find out when the mock meet is and then just move up the test week to align with the template.
