Hi there! First I’d like to thank you for starting Barbell Medicine and sharing valuable information with community through social media.
I somehow hurt my shoulder swimming butterfly 6 months ago, I was running my LP then. I had a dull - achy pain in front of my shoulder for 2 weeks. It was clicking and popping when I moved it. The pain eventually subsided to a point that I actually experience no more pain now. But I still have that bizarre pops and clicks whenever I externally rotate my shoulder or extend my arm beyond midline, feels like my ROM is limited. It used to move more freely prior to that incident. Then I got my MRI done, just to check out whether there is a structural abnormality in my shoulder. MRI result confirmed that there was no structural deformity except slight edema in the anterior part of supraspinatus belly and my orthopedician said that I need no specific treatment and advised me not to ‘put that shoulder under stress’. I am currently following the Bridge and can squat, deadlift, bench, press overhead and do pullups pain-free. But I get those pops more often during my workouts and that really bothers me.
Would you recommend going for an arthroscopy or should I continue training without thinking about it?
