Shoulder Pain

I have had some acute right shoulder pain this morning. I have no had any history of shoulder pain previously. Yesterday I was lifting, doing week 7 day 1 of the Bridge, which involved paused deadlifts. During the last set and rep I felt a slight pop in my right shoulder possibly from a form issue, or just trying to muscle the weight up after holding it and maybe doing a little shrug? Not sure if it matters or not. I felt no immediate pain afterwards so I simply went home. However after sleeping I am feeling some pain/discomfort this morning in same right shoulder.

Pain is coming from upper, outer, rear part of my shoulder around I guess where the back of the ball joint would be. The discomfort is not severe, I’d honestly put it only at like a 2 or 3 maybe on a 1-10 scale and I don’t seem to have any issue raising my arm. The pain actually seems to be worse if I try to pull my arms/shoulders downward, not upward.

I’m trying not to be unnecessarily worried, but just wanted to see if anyone had thoughts for what I should do in regards to training/treatment/having my shoulder looked at. Thanks for your time.

Hey man, sorry to hear you aggravated your shoulder. Sometimes things like this happen. There is a high probability that in the next 48 hours it will go away and from the mechanism you reported I would not be concerned about it being anything serious. You may need to drop some weight on your lifts for the next session but you can still ultimately let RPE your guide and in the next few days you’ll be feeling better.

Thank you for the response! Will kinda see if it goes away or gets better in the next few days, and will continue training, adjusting as needed by RPE.
