Shoulder Pathology

Sometime in the last month, I was listening to a rather recent piece of content by Feigenbaum, I believe it was a seminar Q&A, and he said some 96% of non-athletes showed a shoulder pathology when put under the microscope. You also said you think had it been a sample of athletes it would’ve been 100%. I hope this jogs your memory. Do you have this study? I would love to read it.

You also talked about one in which an older woman with sciatica or disc herniation (I think) went to ~11 specialists and didn’t once receive the same diagnosis. Perhaps I’m misremembering some of the details, but I think this should get the meat and potatoes.

If you remember how to find those studies, I’d love to read them.

Thanks

We are in the middle of writing a series of articles on various shoulder pathologies that will cover the evidence base for the first, as I’m not sure which specific paper is being referenced here.

As for the latter: Variability in diagnostic error rates of 10 MRI centers performing lumbar spine MRI examinations on the same patient within a 3-week period - PubMed
