What is your take on SI joint pain/dysfunction? I have been dealing with occasional low back pain that a chiropractor says is SI joint related. The internet and YouTube would have one believe that most low back pain is SI joint related. My wife has also been dealing with low back pain and saw a spine specialist who says he does not believe in SI joint problems or the pain that would be associated from a SI joint problem. The PT and chiro world says it is a very real issue, and a spine specialist says it is BS. What is your opinion?
Most low back pain is “nonspecific”, not “SI joint related”.
I’d suggest you start here:
the sacroiliac (SI) joints are formed by the connection of the sacrum and the right and left iliac bones. The sacrum is the triangular-shaped bone in the lower portion of the spine, centrally located below the lumbar spine. This can lead to wearing of the cartilage of the SI joints and arthritis.
