Squat Lumbar flexion

Hi, I have a slight lumbar flexion as soon as I go parallel (or below) in the squat. How could I keep my spine neutral trhoughout the entire movement like Austin Baraki does when he squats?

Thank you for your time!

Unless it’s causing you discomfort or loss of control/balance during the rep, it’s probably not too big of a deal. Are you using a belt? If not, it may help with your bracing. Breathing and bracing correctly is a surprisingly big part of a well-executed squat (at least for me), and like every other component you get better with practice.

May may be starting with an overextended position in the first place as well. A video would be helpful.

@LeahBBM did a piece on this that may help

Edit: Oops, she focuses on Thoratic flexion.

Alternately, google “Squat butt wink”

So no, everyone who ever squats has some sort of lumbar flexion and trying to control the degree of it even if you could would somewhat be a waste of time.
Just dont worry about it homie.

Thank you. I was starting in onverextension. Bracing better helped, but I have still some lumbar flexion caused by the movement of my pelvis
