Hey doc,
First of all, I want to thank you for all the work that you’ve put out. I just squatted 100 kg yesterday. I wouldn’t be able to get here without the beginner template. 100 kg might not be that impressive but it beats the hell out of zero for me. On this 100 kg high bar squat, I felt more of my posterior chain, hamstrings and glutes working than my quads. Is there any technique advice you could give me?https://youtu.be/5vN06BTTMJs
Kind regards,
Kirill
Kirill,
Thanks for the post. 100kg looks pretty good to me from this angle, though I can’t really see much outside of your symmetry, knees staying in line with your toes, and gaze. All these look good, but a view from the side would be useful to check depth, bar path, and other aspects of the movement.
In any case, we use the posterior chain significantly in all types of heavy squats so, “feeling it” in your hamstrings and glutes isn’t really cause for concern in my opinion. Nice work, dude!
