Statins and tendons

I wonder if recent tendon problems are due to the drugs I’m taking and, in any event, if this should cause me to do something other than a normal tendon rehab program.

After starting a statin and ezetimibe last year, I had a prolonged left elbow tendon issue which eventually resolved (usual exercises slowly progressed plus time). Shortly after adding repatha this year I had a more severe right elbow tendon issue that has not yet resolved. Given tendon issues are a possible side effect of these drugs, there could be a connection or it could just be a coincidence.

Should I treat this as pain in training - do exercises that stimulate but not aggravate the affected area and see what happens? Is this a something I should be discussing with my cardiologist? Something else?

I realize detailed advice is beyond the scope of this forum, but am just looking for a general approach.

Whether or not it is drug-related would not impact the rehabilitation approach, but may merit an adjustment to the medication treatment strategy.

In that case, I’ll continue rehab and see what my cardiologist has to say.

Thank you!
