What are your thoughts on Stem Cell Therapy to treat osteoarthritis?
There is no good evidence to support it. There is a wide array of heterogeneity in both preparation of what constitute stems cell treatment and the application/reporting of outcomes. It skirts FDA regulation of not being a “drug” by walking the line of manipulation of biologics. If it were regulated like a drug, it would not be on the market with the current outcomes they have presented in the literature.
