tdee calculator and calories

I am using your TDEE calculator. for the activity factor, when I answer the quiz, based on the total points I end up with moderate. it asks me how many steps a day do I average and I get points for that. but then it also asks at work how active are we, and it says mostly sedentary, not very active I 1pt, moderate active is 2 points, and 3 points is very active.

I get 9,000 steps per day M-friday, but that is all at work. so if I am saying 5-9K steps which is 2 points for how many steps per week, then what should I pick for how active am I at work? do I pick 2 points for moderately active, or just do 1 point for not very active since most of my activity is the daily steps and I already took that into consideration for the daily steps 2 points?

AC,

This question is addressed in the text below the calculator. I don’t recall writing anything about work activity being separate and different than non-work activity for energy expenditure, so I’m not sure I understand your question. 'm not sure if you’re looking for a different answer, but I don’t have one for you. Moderate seems fine.

I should point out however, that this is just a energy target intake to get someone started. Since you’ve presumably been trying to gain weight for awhile now, you should have a decent sense of how much energy you’re consuming regularly. I’d take that, add a few hundred Calories to it, and then go from there.

Let’s take a few weeks off of questions and let you train for a bit, okay?

Just pointing out that you referenced the calorie calculator in your response above. He may be talking about this one: TDEE Calculator: Evaluate Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure

Could be, though it uses the same formula
