Thigh Contusion-like pain while squatting

Hey Dr.

For the past couple of weeks I have a Contusion-like pain in my outer left thigh( right in the middle) while squatting or climbing up the stairs. It not always there, only when doing squat-like movements. Tired high bar and low bar but it still there. Rested for.about 3 days but no change.

I experienced inflammation in the glut tendon on the same side for couple of months(self diagnoses) before the current pain so though it might be related to the IT band but since it doesn’t fill inflamed and fills more like a dead-leg muscle pain that hurts only while squatting I don’t really know what it is and what is the correct why to recover from this.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Shay

Shay,

Sorry to hear about the thigh pain for the last few weeks. It’s not immediately clear to me what it is from this description, but it also doesn’t raise a lot of red flags for continued activity, albeit modified.

Based on what you know from our rehab material, e.g. here and here, what do you think the approach should be?
