Thinking about adding some pin presses into Hypertrophy program

I’m running the 3-day Hypertrophy I program again. It’s a great program and I really enjoyed it the first time around. My press is my weakest lift, so I was thinking about adding some pin presses on one of the days when I do cardio/arms/abs, maybe after Day 3, and doing 3 sets of 5 at RPE 7-8.

Is that going to harm my progress on the hypertrophy program? Do you think it will help increase my Press strength a bit?

Thanks for any guidance.

Sunil

I don’t think it will help your maximal press strength, as you’re on a hypertrophy program. I wouldn’t do them on your GPP days or otherwise program them into a hypertrophy program. Strength II for Strengthlifting would be a good template for you

Thanks Jordan!

Sorry - one more question regarding exercise substitutions in the Hypertrophy ! program. With gyms being closed I don’t have access to a leg press or belt squat or even dumbbells. So for Day 2, instead of belt squat or leg press I’ve been no-belt low bar squats (since Day 1 has high bar squats) and redoing touch and go bench instead of dumbbell bench. The no belt squats really are fatiguing but I’m not sure I have another option right now.

Are these substitutions ok? Should I maybe do 15 degree incline bench as the third lift instead just to mix it up a bit?

Thanks again.

Sunil

I’d probably do split squats or narrow stance HBBS for leg press instead.
