Hey Barbell Medicine crew,
I was doing my working sets of deadlifts the other day when one of the trainers commented that I was showing, his words, excessive thoracic flexion both on the eccentric and the concentric. He offered to record my next set and, sure enough, I do seem to display some thoracic flexion when the loads approach >80%.
Is this something I should be concerned about? I’m usually focused on keeping lumbar extension when pulling so I’ve never put too much thought on whether I’m in thoracic extension as well. I guess after so many years it’s a habit I’ve developed.
I can post a video if necessary.
Thanks in advance, guys.
