Training and templates

Hello Drs,

A few questions:

  1. I am nearing the end of my repeat run of STR I (for bench only). I still surprisingly made a decent amount of progress on the second run. Just to show the comparison of progress on both runs:

1st run 1@8:
+15.4lbs

2nd run 1@8:
+11lbs

Should I still run STR I again considering there MAY still be a decent amount of gains (I’m guessing around 3kg or so) to be made? Or should I just move on to PL II?

  1. The STR templates (I-III) have numbers which determines the order in which they should be done (i.e. the higher the number is for more advanced trainees). Where does the Low fatigue template fall in all of this? Does it fall between II and III, after III or is it an alternative to II or III?

Hope that made sense.

  1. This is a TWOUD but, any plans on changing PL II to STR II to keep the naming convention consistent?

TIA!

SP,

Nice job on STR I x2. Pretty good stuff. I think that level of increase is pretty good and given your response, I wouldn’t automatically assume you need MORE. I’m about 60/40 on either repeating the same template or moving on to the next one, 60% in favor of repeating. You can flip a coin to decide or move onto the next one if you’re pressing me to make a decision.

Regarding the order, the Low Fatigue template slots in after people have done PL II (at a minimum), but it’s a fine progression from PL III. In both cases, I’d favor using it on those who didn’t make good progress on PL II or III, as the change in training stress distribution may be key in driving progress.

I’d love to change PL II to STR II, though the strengthlifting template still does pretty well. Will have to think on a way to make it work!

Thanks again for the help!
