Training strategy

For an individual who has no near future reason to peak, would it be better to remain in a developmental block of a template for several weeks or even months or do you recommend just following the trajectory of the program as written?

I think that someone with no competitive/time-sensitive reason for a specific outcome related to exercise performance should run training blocks out as long as they’re still working. Still, resistance training programming will need periodic adjustments, with some exposure to higher intensity/lower volume training and lower intensity/higher volume training. In other words, I don’t think it’s a great idea to skip the higher intensity phases completely, but people can certainly run developmental phases longer if it’s working for them.

Makes sense. Thank you.
