Went to shift phases

Doctors,

I was thinking on your recent beginner template podcast, and I had a thought about my current training which is the general strength and conditioning. Could you apply the same principle used in the beginner template to all templates. In that, you only change phases when the current phase stops working?

My current template has a volume ramp up that tops out in the third week. Could I not just continue this third week indefinitely until it stopped working and then move to the next?

Sure, that’s one way to do things provided you have no hard timeline corresponding to certain physical traits, e.g. a PL meet, competition, athletic season, etc.
