Travel for work

Anyone else travel daily for work? I am a household furniture mover and my busy season has begun. I am usually away from home most weeks until september. This really effects my training schedule because I have to decide whether to sleep/eat enough throughout the day or have time to train. I usually work 7 days a week during this time frame. For some introspective, I got up to 205 lbs by the end of march and all of my lifts went up. Now I am 190lbs…many times I do not have time to eat during the day and I do not have the ability to make food to bring with me since I am staying in hotels. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? I feel emaciated lol

Shakes. Many, many protein shakes. Mass gainers if you really have to. PB&J sandwiches too.

I moved household goods in college. I would pour so much sweat I would soak through everything I was wearing. I moved a lot of folks out of houses with walk-up attics and carried long distances to the street. We always stopped at gas stations for food and carried coolers with us everywhere. I basically ran on powdered sugar donuts and diet mountain dew. Weighed about 215 then, same as I do now.

Yes, you can take mass gainer protein. It will help you to gain more lbs. Also try to eat full on breakfast. It will not make you hungry full day.

Yeah…Traveling for work can definitely be challenging, especially when it affects your training schedule.

Traveling for work can definitely be challenging, especially when it comes to maintaining a consistent training schedule and getting proper nutrition. It sounds like you have a busy season ahead of you as a household furniture mover. Regarding your training dilemma, have you considered incorporating shorter, high-intensity workouts that can be done in limited time? That way, even if you can’t dedicate a lot of time to training, you can still get a good workout in. As for the hotel situation, some hotels have mini-fridges or microwaves that you can request for your room. It might be worth asking if those amenities are available to help you store or prepare food.

Hey there! Traveling for work can wrench your routine, but you’ve got this!

When balancing training and a busy schedule, meal prep can be a lifesaver. Consider preparing easy-to-pack meals and snacks in advance, like protein bars, nuts, or sandwiches. It’s also important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Look for bodyweight exercises or resistance bands that are portable. And hey, if you ever find yourself in Chicago during downtime, remember to check out the amazing Chicago boat tours they offer!

For food, consider stocking up on portable, calorie-dense snacks like protein bars, nuts, or jerky. They’re easy to carry and can help keep your energy up when you don’t have time for a proper meal. If you’re staying in hotels, check if they have a microwave or fridge in the room—you can pick up ready-to-eat meals or precooked options from grocery stores. Some stores even have decent salads or wraps that are better than fast food.
