Travelling

Docs,

I’ll be moving around a lot next month and won’t have reliable access to a gym or home cooked food for about 3.5 weeks. What’s your usual protocol for this?

I will have finished my current program as I leave, so is it worth starting a new program? And more of a nutritional question but I plan to carry protein powder to ensure adequate protein intake, is this behaviour sensible?

Many thanks,
Sheak

Sheak,

I’m not sure where you’re traveling to, but most locations that are industrialized will have gyms that you can access. We would recommend finding places to train, as it’s not advisable to take nearly a month off what is likely your main source of physical activity.

With respect to food, taking protein powder with your is certainly an option in addition to making good choices at meals you’ll eat out of the home, e.g. aiming for lean proteins, fruits and veggies, and using some sort of quantity assessment to make sure you’re eating the correct amount of calories. For example, you can ballpark your intake and log your food using MyFitnessPal.

Thanks doc Feigenbuam, in which case I will keep training as a priority and be sensible with food whilst supplementing with Whey.

With my schedule and resources available to me, I think I can fit in 3 sessions of training a week with stricter than usual time constraints. In which case do you recommend I temporarily work on the Time Crunch template and start a more intensive program after I return home?

Many thanks,
