I’ve had pretty frequent muscle spasms in my right tricep for the last 48 hours, it’s especially bad this evening after training. I have no pain or tingling but have freaked myself out googling this and how it can be a sign of ALS which I’m sure you’ll tell me is pretty stupid. Last week was testing week so pushed pretty hard, if that is relevent.
I had this a couple of months ago and it went away, I just wish I new what is causing it. I would imagine training is the most likely cause but I am taking Propana and Mirtrazapine, could this be a side effect?
Fasciculations, e.g, brief, generally non painful, involuntary twitches of muscle, are really common after training. In contrast, a sustained, generally painful, involuntary contraction would be more in-line with a “spasm” or cramp. This can also happen after training, particularly when fatigue is high.
I don’t think either are common side effects of mirtazapine (not sure what propana is), but I don’t think think I can assuage your concerns from here. If you’re worried, you should contact your GP.
