Viagra for recovery and protein synthesis?

What do you think Doctors?

Looks interesting.

What’s your initial analysis of this paper?

We each get sent and tagged in numerous things on a daily basis from folks with nothing other than “thoughts”? More specific questions are generally better.

Sample size is small but the results are significantly positive. I vote yes.

Thank you for your response. My question is , could a little dose of sildenafil help with the recovery and/or protein synthesis? are there any possible side effects ?
thank you again!

Look closely at figure 2c far right. This does not show significant positive results. This is an old paper, poorly designed, incorrectly analyzed and the conclusions do not support the actual data.

N=5 is too low, it needs to be repeated with a much larger matched population. 8 days is too short. There is no mention if these are trained or untrained, although based on the blood work and BMI I’m guessing untrained. Since the sample size is so low, how much of this is simply the novice effect of on group being higher than the other?

Why do they bother doing these silly things with such poor starting parameters?

In addition to what others have said, Viagra is pretty damn expensive (on the order of $30/pill at least, according to the Google Machine) and wouldn’t be an affordable supplement even if this effect is real.

Even if it had a measurable positive effects, seems like incredibly poor bang for the buck. No pun intended. I’ll be sticking with L-citrulline.

"No really Mr chemist, its for muscle gainzz’.

'Of course its is sir, of course it is…".

I just purchased a bottle of 90 Sildenafil 20mg tabs @ Costco pharmacy for $31 using a GoodRx discount coupon. I have no affiliation with GoodRx or Costco, but I am a pharmacist.
