I hear autophagy etc thrown around. i have also read x studies’ headlines (unsure of the control group) where they said the majority of people in the study ‘reverse type 2 diabetes’ but im not sure if thats a result of IF itself or calorie restriction. so my question is, discounting calorie restriction, what physiological/mental benefits(ie less brain activity in centers that previously showed activity due to hyperpaltable foods) does longer fasting 24hr-72 hr windows give?
There are no unique benefits to fasting for days with respect to weight loss, “mental benefits” (this is made up), and/or health trajectory compared to eating a health-promoting diet consumed daily.
