What plays a role in your Blood Sugar?

So recently had a discussion with a guy at my local gym who trying to lose weight because he is almost diabetic or " pre diabetes". This got me thinking about carbs and blood sugar. If your over weight individual (not obese) and you have no history of diabetes in your family but your pre- diabetic should you avoid carbs or make any nutritional adjustments ? Would just losing body fat with general calorie deficiency and exercise be appropriate way to lower your blood sugar levels? Also side note if you’re not diabetic what nutritional factors play a role in your blood sugar?

Also site note for someone that is large stature such as a man who’s 6"2" to 6"8" does the 40" waist health rule still apply or is it acceptable for them to have waists higher then 40"?

Low carbohydrate diets do not work better for weight loss, diabetes correction, etc. than low fat (or other calorie restriction).

The waist circumference limits are not discussed in terms of height, but I would bet a bulk of the data does NOT come from those who are 6’8

So does a diabetic have to take any special nutritional considerations for carbs ?

It depends on the context. No blanket statements here.
