Where is everyone at?

Just curious where the BBM forum people are from, and in case I ever decide to do a local powerlifting meet it would be cool to know someone else who may be there! I’m in Chicagoland, Illinois.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach area.

I’ll add that the forum’s profile section has an “about” page which I pursue for various posters frequently, usually to find it unpopulated.

@JurisSquatter Look how awesome you are bringing together the community ***sending virtual high five ****

@Serack I guess I never thought about really filling it out or looking at other community members pages… Maybe I will contemplate filling it out … Sidebar… I think they should add a “goal’s” section and a “what are you reading” section. I think both would add another dimension and color to the profile that could help the BBM community encourage each other in the goals. The books we are reading, well that’s cause I’m a geek, find it fascinating and love a good read.

What genres? I’m a SF/F geek myself, trending more to the F lately. I’m actually between books at the moment, but the last book I read was Sanderson’s Oathbringer. I’m an avid fan of Jim Butcher’s Dresden files. Avid doesn’t quite cover it.

Edit: Actually, I suppose technically, you could say I’m in the middle of reading “Peace Talks” but I don’t have control over when I get to read each chapter, with weeks in between sometimes. I’m one of his Beta Readers.

I’m in Ohio but I hail from the mighty frozen tundra of Minnesota.

My goal is to be the worlds strongest watchmaker (sadly I may have already achieved this.)

I’m currently reading;

The Dark Tower (re-reading)

Locke and Key

The Science and Development of Muscle Hypertrophy

Alexander of Macedon 356-323bc: a historical biography

War God

That made me laugh.

From Texas, residing in Oregon for now.

Goals: train consistently for the foreseeable future and see where I end up. Right now, I’m focused on body weight press and 500lb squat, but we’ll see what comes.

Reading: im a grad student, reading various books on pragmatism, American philosophy and democracy/community organizing. ATM, “Reveille for Radicals.”

For fun, just read Ancillary Justice by Anne Lecke; great recent sci fi.

YOU ALL MADE MY VERY VERY LONG DAY!!! I actually meant for BBM to add those options to the profile pages, but this is soooo much better!!! Sending you all virtual hugs:)

Genres… hmmm… well I like many as long as they are not scary (don’t judge) or romance (yuck). I am a bit embarrassed to say I am not reading anything fun or junkie right now. I am in the middle of a couple books all mental health related because well… that’s what I do and I love my job:). Sooo currently reading Dialectical behavior therapy for Binge eating and Bulimia (exciting isn’t it!!), also End Emotional Eating which is also using Dialectical Behavior Therapy… I know right, just enthralling!! While driving/cleaning/cooking I am listening to a book Unstuck …I know all very very exciting material!! I guess I really should try some lighter reading…OH WAIT I just read the Hunger Games blog part 1 and 2 and loved it, however, he kept mentioning about a psychological part and this is what I was most interested in reading but for the life of me I can’t find that part to the Blog I was verklepmt (although I am highly aware it is probably user error on my part, and it’s there somewhere).

Props to the worlds strongest watchmaker!! LEGIT!

Lovin’ on the historical biography!!

Oh and a HIGH FIVE to OHIO!!!

While I am not local, here there is the only Starting Strengt gym outside America.
Unfortunately I do not have subscription there tho…

Wings fan??

I’m in podunkville usa, other wise known as Keokuk Iowa… very bottom SE corner of Iowa to be perfectly specific… at least we have excellent hunting around here…

@brian1684 … podunkville eh;)… First you are a midwesterner and as everyone knows, we are the nicest, most down to earth people and our accent is the plainest in the US…lol… I grew up in podunkville usa too, its amazing how many podunkville’s there are:) What do you hunt? And darlin’ of course I am a Wings fan… I dare not think what would happen if I lived where I live and not be a Wings fan, the though makes me shutter :slight_smile:

@IeGDE …Sinapore!!! NICE:)

I’m currently in Northern VA, but originally from Charlotte NC.

I have only live/lived in the midwest for 21 years, but ill never claim to be a midwesterner… i was born in the south and therefore will always be a southerner at heart. Even still have the southern drawl… As for hunting, anything that has a season for the most part, but the main ones for me are turkey, dove, and deer…

As for the wings, its been a rough few years… I miss Datsyuk still… usually try to make it to Detroit every year for a game, but just didn’t make it this year… but did see them play in Chicago though. A game that they won in a very commanding fashion as well…
