We’ll see if someone else wants to chime in here too, but the short answer is no, cycle syncing isn’t a thing, and there is no universal programming plan for all women to match their menstrual cycle nor is there a need to eat differently during various times of the cycle.
Will individual women have individual experiences related to their cycle and training? For sure. I think this is important, as sometimes when we try to communicate how universal training and nutrition principles are, at a basic level, sometimes the unique experiences related to the cycle can be lost in translation. It pains me when women personally feel that their struggles related to this might be downplayed due to a blanket answer that sounds like it disregards their experiences. Because sometimes training and the menstrual cycle symptoms is also a factor that we do consider.
But I’d think about this as the differences and inputs that you would address and manage in ANY trainee- each one will have different experiences, history, expectations, and stresses, and to a certain extent, these don’t matter too much when thinking about the basics of training and diet, overall. But can they matter to an individual? For sure!
