First post - be kind
I’m going to go out in a limb and say there’s not enough information in your post to receive a response that your looking for.
More volume - less weight.
Not sure what happened to the rest of the post?! I’ll try again
I purchased the Press template a few weeks ago. First few weeks went well, increases of 2.5lbs and 1lbs - RPE in line where it should around 8
2 weeks ago same increase and RPE rose to a 9, I put it down to a bad week, volume still felt good. Week later put the increase on and it really was a 9/9.5
This week determined to hit an 8 I accepted something was a miss and slight decrease might happen - I saw a near 25lbs decrease in squat, nearly 50lbs on dead - in fact I didn’t finish dead and switched it to a GPP day hoping another days rest might help
Sleep is poor at the moment and stress is very high
I guess the questions are - can external stress really affect the lifts this much and bar the obvious more sleep less stress, what should I do training wise to counter this?
Thanks and also big fan of BBM - love to see you guys in the UK
As you stated you need more sleep and better stress management. The best thing to do is to stop worrying about it, do the program with the proper RPE even if the weight goes down. Think about lifting as a long term thing. Will you care that your numbers fell 50lbs in a year, 2 years, etc.? I had a similar issue on the bridge 1.0, I was over shooting RPE a tad and life stress was on the rise. My numbers fell for a few weeks but then they rebounded. As Austin said a couple times we are all picking up arbitrarily sized things and moving them through space. You’ll be fine and good luck!
Fair point - thanks
