12 week press template

Week 4 (5 if counting week 0 ) pressing template , i be Added 17kg to my 1@8 rpe for squats, around same with dl but my 1@8 at belt press is a fail, i cant add weight. Week 0=70kg
week 1=75
week 2 = 80 kg
3=same
4 same

Welcome! I’d have you try 82.5 and make some 2.5kg jumps with the press instead of 5kg jumps.

Will try Yet i failed 82,5kg when i tried :confused: this week and got only 80. Todays pressing with No belt from racks went better cos i sav3d some Strength on squats, maybe iam pushin lower body too hard. My pressing sucks in comprasion to leg Strength

So I think what happened here is we just increased the press intensity too much too quickly without the strength base to support it. I would continue on the program, but plan your 1 @ 8 and back off sets based on the previous week’s performance so you don’t overshoot. For example if you did 75 x 1 @ 8 on week 1, it’s highly unlikely that 80 x 1 is going to be an 8 the following week, right? Then trying to add more to that puts your further away from the correct stress and I think you end up stalling because we’re in the wrong intensity range. Does that make sense?
