12 weeks post toe fracture

Hello Doctors,

I recently got some imaging of my toe that I fractured 12 weeks ago. I had been lifting on it during that period, being careful to avoid putting much pressure on the toes in that foot and also had kept the weight light. The x-rays supposedly showed that the fracture had healed, but also that the toe next to it is showing signs of “stress response”. It obviously has been a really long time since the fracture, and I am ready to start lifting like normal again, except now I got this to deal with. How should I proceed? Should I take some time off of lower body lifts (one to two weeks)? I want to take aggressive measures because I am ready for my foot to be completely healthy again.

Thanks,
ColoradoMinesCole

What did the doctor who ordered this scan tell you?

I would not be particularly concerned with this.

He just said to tape it and see how it feels in a few weeks, then go to a podiatrist for rehab if necessary. I’ve done my fair share of waiting though, and my toes still keep feeling some discomfort. Enough for me to keep avoid bearing weight with the toes. I just want be able to walk normally again. My concern is just with how lifting affects the recovery, and the my doctor isnt really qualified to give a good recommendation.
