Training with a broken toe?

Yesterday while doing sumo deadlifts I dropped the weight on my pinky toe. I ended up fracturing the phalange of my 5th metatarsal. Went to the ER immediately. Orthopedic surgeon took a look at my x-rays, removed my toenail, and told me to make a follow up appointment for a week or 2 from now. I wasn’t given any instructions on training. Overall, he didn’t seem concerned at all about this injury which was pretty relieving.

Just wondering how I should proceed with my training from here. I was told the recovery time would be about 6 weeks. When is a reasonable time to reintroduce squats and deadlifts? Should I stick to benching with feet up for now?

Hey, I’m not nearly in as bad shape as you, but still broke my pinky toe. Was going to start another thread but maybe I can latch onto this one and save some space for all. Looking for advice on how to target the lower body while avoiding the feet. In the midst of hypertrophy 1. Leg extensions /Curls going to keep me from loosing too much on squats and deads?
