12wk Strength, Overload Bench

I don’t have a slingshot, and I don’t really want to lay down on the ground for benches as I couldn’t set the pins in a place to save me if I screw up (sure this shouldn’t and hasn’t happened in a very long time but I still prefer to have the safety.)

Does pin-bench work for the overload bench as well? It seems to me that most of these (barring slingshot) reduce range of motion and allow for increases in weight, which is what happens in the pin-bench too.

You may not be able to bench as much as you think from the pins, but that is a reasonable sub if needed for safety.
