A part of my shoulder/neck rehab routine is internal rotation using towel to improve my Right hand’s internal rotation and increase it’s range of motion. Someday I increased the frequency by increasing the number of sets at this exercise and I increased the power I pull with of my Left hand so the range of motion of right hand has increased, now whenever I try to do it again or trying to reach my mid-back with my right hand there is a stiffness that’s almost a pain I really don’t know and confused … what to do now anyway ?
Tough to say without more details. Why was internal rotation deemed a necessary range of motion to improve for your goals?
I lacked the range of motion, I couldn’t even reach my mid-back with my Right hand unlike my left hand, besides I had a little pain while doing internal rotations with right hand.
Gotcha. We’d need a consultation with you to give individual advice and recommendations. Often there are range of motion asymmetries from side to side but this doesn’t then equate to a problem necessarily. I’d know more once we consulted with you on the matter. In the meantime, check out our shoulder series that starts HERE. Also, HERE are our general recommendations for altering activity in these type of situations.
Thanks Michael, keep up the good work
