A question about training volume

Hi BBM, I recently purchased the beginner template and the powerbuilding I template and I really like the style of programming you guys use, but I have a question about the training volume in the powerbuilding template. Just out of curiosity, I calculated the average amount of reps per week for the chest, and it came out as 63.5 (all compound). When I compared it to my old “bro split” (3 exercises, 1 compound for 3 x 8, 1 accessory for 3 x 10, 1 accessory for 3 x 12, 2 times per week), the volume was much lower than my old routine (180 reps per week, though only 48 per week from compound exercises).

I was wondering whether I would still be able to make good progress when it comes to hypertrophy even though the volume is much lower than I used to do, because from what I understand volume is the main driver of hypertrophy.

Thanks in advance,

Josh.

Short answer: Yes, you’ll likely make progress on the PB template.

Long answer: Volume is the main driver of hypertrophy in the context of correct intensity and frequency. I think comparing volume at wildly different intensities is difficult to do.
