Arthritis in the knee

Hi BBM

I’ve been following you guys for about a year now. I really appreciate the work you guys do. I live in the UK. Have attended the Barbell Medicine Seminar.

My Dad has been diagnosed with mild arthritis in his left knee. He is 59 years old, has a history of being a keen runner (marathons), likes to lift weights, but only upper body work (bench and dumbbells mainly)
He is not overweight, eats a healthy diet, doesn’t smoke, probably likes beer a little too much though.
Has pain after a run and also after being in the car.
Arthritis diagnosed with X-ray.
Doctor told him to use cycle or rowing machines to help the knee. Told to stop running.

I personally think that it’s time he learned to Squat and Deadlift to help reverse his condition.
A few weeks of learning and then a go at the Bridge might be good.

Do you mind if I ask your advice for him? Is the the Knee Template appropriate for this condition?

Thanks Guys

Mark
