Hi! My friend convinced me to try strength training (instead of my usual cardio bunny stuff) and pointed me towards this section of the internet space. Watched a lot of Jordan and Austin’s content before I actually started training and have to say I like what I hear so far.
A bit about me: human female, born from the womb 26 years ago, 5 feet 2 inches in stature, and a mass of 120 pounds. No prior athletic history except for some on and off ‘exercising’ for a few years. Mostly jogging!
I just started Starting Strength 2 weeks ago. Mr. Alan Thrall indirectly teaching me the lifts via the YouTubes
I am actually not entirely sure what my goals are yet. I’m such a girl in the sense that “I don’t want to get bulky”. Even though I know that’s not how it works I suppose I just give getting stronger a shot and see how it goes. I’ve never been able to stick to an exercise routine either, so maybe the journey of ‘training’ will help me stick to it.
Logs really help me stay accountable so I’ll try my best to keep one up here for my own sake.
May 21 2018 Squat
75 x 5 x 3
Started with the empty bar and so far it hasn’t been too hard
Press
37.5 x 5 x 3
Haha…I could not lift the empty bar for even 1 rep my first day. Luckily my gym has a 25 pound bar I can use.
Hi! I broke my tibia during extra curricular activities and stopped training for awhile… I’m back now! Thanks BBM for all the pain content it helped lots.
