Back Arch

After recently videoing myself benching I realized how excessive of an arch I have whilst benching, I’m talking almost to the point of those flexible female powerlifters!

Given that I’m not female and not a powerlifter should I retrain my bench and reduce the arch? It kind of looks ridiculous, however I feel strong in that position and the thought of dropping a significant amount off the bar isn’t appealing.

My glutes don’t “rise” during the lift but my arch is so tight that they appear to be hovering above the bench.

Just ran SSLP approaching intermediate and benching just over 100kg for 5’s. Appreciate any feedback.

As long as head, shoulders, and butt are on the bench, you should be fine to carry on.
