Back in Motion - Book Review

Hello Barbell Medicine,

I just finished listening to the recent research review podcast and the discussion on Huberman’s back pain podcast.

Out of curiosity, I was just wondering if barbell medicine has read Stefi Cohen’s “Back in Motion” book? The statements about a lot of Huberman’s claims being “it sounds good and plausible, but to actual experts/clinicians it doesn’t make much sense” made me start to rethink various discussions I’ve heard and/or read as a layman without any academic or clinical knowledge. It was interesting to hear experts explain the lens through which certain narratives are told.

When I originally read "Back in Motion," I enjoyed Stefi’s approach and the modern perspectives she applied to back pain. I’d be curious to get barbell medicine’s $0.02 on the matter. For a bonus, I’d also really be curious to hear input on Squat University’s “Rebuilding Milo.”

We have not read either book, so are unfortunately unable to comment on them. I am glad that our podcast was thought provoking for you, though, and hopefully helps you apply a critical lens to more claims out there.
