Hi, I am currently running strength I and have noticed that the back off sets listed for the main lifts tend to provide intensity choices based on both percentages based of e1RM (I get this based on my single at 8) or RPE. However when I calculate the weight based of the e1RM, I feel as if it doesn’t match with the weight that I should be using if I were to choose the weight based of the RPE provided. Personally I’ve been choosing my weight by calculating based on the RPE that the set should feel like and was wondering if this approach is fine, or whether I need to change the way I pick the weight.

Yea, the back off %'s probably will feel a bit lighter for some folks than if they had just used RPE alone. That’s fine and the RPE is mainly there to avoid people overshooting.
