BB2 Lower Body Day (aka “AAAAH”)

Hi all,

I’m doing BB2 3-Day atm, currently at week 4. For convenience I decided to do RDLs instead of Hip Thrust for the second slot - so I’m doing HB squat, RDL, Leg Press, Step Ups and Calf Raises.

I know it’s all subjective, but is there a good way to gauge whether this might be too much for my current training level?

I ask because I’m pretty sure it’s a tougher session than anything I’ve done before.

Some info:

  • I previously did all 3 phases of Beginner template, then PB1 Gen 2 3-Day
  • I’ve been able to add more reps/weight on everything each week
  • During the session I’m pretty winded with occasional slight nausea, but feel able to complete the workout
  • My legs were sore for 2-3 days after last week’s lower day, nothing crippling but a bit ouchy when tying my shoelaces kinda thing

Sounds about right to me. If I may ask, how long is this session taking you and when is your last meal prior to training?

OK great

The session took about 1h 40m yesterday. When I got home I actually felt fine pretty quick (I posted this topic while still at the gym), so that was another good sign actually.

I usually eat lunch around 1.5 to 2 hours earlier.

Unrelated, but just want to say the new PB1 is brilliant btw - I ran it prior to this and it was super fun. I think the balance of heavy stuff to bodybuilding elements is spot on.
