BBII Update Question

Hey, Docs! I’m currently running block II of BBII and took a moment to look ahead at the next block. I noticed unlike the prior two blocks, the rep range for the main/first lift of the day is a mixture of 3-5, 4-6 and 6-10 rep sets for block three. I took a look at the template spreadsheet prior to the update and the main/first lifts were all uniformly 3-5 reps. Also, the theme seems to be with the other blocks a consistent rep range prescription across the week for that first lift of the day. I’m just wondering if the alterations I’m noticing in block three post-update are a mistake or were they deliberate? If they were in fact deliberate, could you possibly provide your reasoning as to why you implemented a mixed rep system and diverged from the rep-range design motif present in the prior two blocks? Just curious. Thanks, guys!

I actually updated the templates earlier this week so that the rep schemes are held consistent. Download the latest version and take a peek at it.

Just redownloaded it and I see the same issue. I’m talking specifically about the first set of the first exercise on block three. If you look across the low bar squat, deadlift, bench, and bent over row, they are all different rep ranges which is in contrast to the programming from the prior two blocks where they all had a uniform rep range. Do you see what I mean? Squat is 3-5, bent over row, 6-10, DL is 4-6, bench 4-6 reps. I’m just wondering why there are varying rep ranges across exercises instead of a uniform 5-8 prescription or uniform 4-6 prescription in the first block across exercises.

Oh interesting! Not sure why that didn’t save. The first upper body day with the rows first is correct, as I wanted it to be higher rep, but the second one was in error. I just fixed it and should have the correct rep scheme now.

Just redownloaded and conventional deadlift and bench are still 4-6 reps and squats are 3-5 for block III. Should they all be 3-5 with the exception of chest-supported rows for block three mainlifts? And are the changes you’re making in Excel spreadsheet or the app? I’m using the spreadsheet. Are all of the “main lifts” for block three supposed to be 3-5 reps with the exception of rows?

Don’t shoot the messenger but I’ve just redownloaded it also, and am still seeing the rep ranges goreblox mentions.

May I ask what the rep ranges should be? I’m going to be starting this block soon so it would be cool to make sure I’m running the program as intended.

Thanks

I’m making the changes in the spreadsheet. I just downloaded it from the website and BB Block III, v 1.3 should have 3-5 reps for all the main lifts except the main rows. If you’re still getting an error upon downloading, shoot us an email via support@barbellmedicine.com. We’ll suss it out ASAP. Not sure if there’s a glitch in the file attributed to the template or something else. Kinda funky, but see if it works for you now.

See the above reply. Sorry about any inconvenience!

Hi just wanted to ask: How am I able to redownload it if I do not have a account for the Webshop?

That worked on my end. Thanks, Jordan!
