Best way to quantify volume

What is the best way to quantify the homeostatic disruption on volume day, repssetsweight or repssets or repssets*RPE?

Volume is defined as working sets times reps.

It is not possible to “quantify the homeostatic disruption” in any meaningful / useful way. The (neuro)biology of stress is far more complicated than this.

I understand but say, one’s required to choose a metric (however un-deterministic), temporarily to get a ball park estimate, what would it be?

You could use tonnage, sets x reps x weight.
