To be honest, I’ve been doing my LP since February, and it was getting stale, and I want to start a new program next week.
My plan was to take my 3x5’s, and just do AMRAPs to see if I’m gauging my RPE’s right.
For example, I was planning to do 135x5x3 for the squat. I thought that would be around ~@RPE 7. Well, it turned out that I could do 10 reps, so it was lower than 7.
After finishing the 10 reps, I was like, I wonder what my 1RM is. So I just ramped up until I hit 180KG.
So the answer really is, to break the monotony of 3x5s.
Maybe I should have been more aggressive with my LP for both my squats and deads.
