Hello Jordan / Austin,
It’s Oğuz from Turkey, first I would like to thank you for the changes that you’ve made in my life both with your content and templates. I have been training with your programs almost 3 years now, and get my blood checked regularly. In my recent test result my Uric Acid Serum level was 7.73 mg/dL; and my doctor said it might be because of protein overconsumption. I’m 29, 174cm/71kg and eat around 100g protein per day. Should I be worried about UAS level, and why do you think it is out of range ?
Kind regards,
Why are you having your uric acid level measured at all?
Unless you have a history of gout or some other specific reason, you probably do not need to be monitoring this. Additionally, 100 g of protein per day is not “overconsumption”.
Thanks Austin. Well measuring my UAS was not my choice, when you go ask to doctor for a blood check they measure UAS on default. Then I guess it wouldn’t be problem for me to take supplements like creatine or whey/casein ?
There is no reason to screen uric acid levels by default in the general population.
I would have no concern with your use of creatine or whey/casein.
