Body Building 1 Gen 2 Questions

Hello,

Between programs right now. Just finished Hyper 1 Gen 2. Decided to try out the trial of Body Building 1 Gen 2, 3 Day. First day will be today after work. Looking ahead the only thing I’m concerned about is the leg curls. I don’t have access to machines and when looking up alternatives I found two options.

  1. Holding a dumbbell between my feet and laying face down on a bench which does give me the ability to increase load, but I’m unsure about the holding it with my feet thing and how awkward that might be.

  2. Using a resistance band. I was wondering though if the resistance isn’t high enough if I get to the end of the rep range and haven’t hit my RPE target do I just do however many reps it takes to get to that target RPE?

Which option do you think is better or do you have another suggestion?

Lastly, Overhead tricep extensions. I have seen these done two ways. 1) With the pulley overhead, leaning forward and pressing down. 2) Pulley low and pressing up. Which is it supposed to be?

Hey Brian,

For the leg curls, save for a monkey foot attachment, I don’t think there’s a good way to do these with dumbbells or a resistance band. If it were me, I’d be doing Nordic hamstring curls or single leg RDL’s (likely with the trail foot as a kickstand). You could do an ankle attachment on the pulley system you reference below.

Either variation of the OH triceps extension can work. I prefer to do it with the pulley ~ waist level, then face away from the stack and crank em out. So, a low pulley, but not that low.
