Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any information on mental/stress induced burn out. I am a part of the food service industry and in my current city there are a lot of chefs who appear to be having issues with this. I am planning to do a presentation on this in March and want to find some concrete data. I thought you guys might have information, or be able to stir me in the direction on where to find information. Thank you guys.
This is a really, really broad topic area. Do you have any scientific background? The fields of allostasis/stress neurobiology and psychoneuroimmunology are most relevant here, but diving into the primary literature on such a topic can be challenging without the requisite background knowledge.
Austin, I have no scientific background unfortunately. Mostly, I want to give a presentation without just telling people
“Breathe deeply for 5 minutes”
“Try planning your day on paper to make it more manageable”
and other things that appear to be simple/nonsense ( even if the modalities could potentially help )
I just want to have examples from real literature on effect ways to manage, asses when the issues are occurring. I reached out because you and your team always have such sound advice on where to look to better yourself! I will try to find some information in the fields you mentioned above, and hopefully can understand it myself. Again, thank you and the team, truly.
