Hi! Does it matter what time frame a calorie deficit is achieved in? I understand a daily calorie deficit is the most common, however is there any reason that is preferred over weekly? For example, if I want to reduce my daily caloric intake by 300 cal/day; would that be the same as reducing them by 420 Mon-Fri and eating at maintenance Sat & Sun? I understand there are not proven benefits unique to IF but strictly from a calorie deficit point of view does it matter? Theoretically, could the same calorie deficit be achieved fasting one day per week for example? Is there anything inherent about a calorie deficit every 24 hours, or is it a preference/compliance/lifestyle issue?
It doesn’t really matter as far as we can tell right now.
Thanks Doc!
