Carb cycling - High, Low and Moderate days

Hi Dr. Feigenbaum,

Thanks again for all of the content. I’m tuned in just about everywhere you put out info.

I have been tracking macros daily for 8 weeks. I feel like I am ready to begin cycling carbs throughout the week.

If my current macros are 220 P, 245 C and 66 F (2,455 kcal). General info: 37 y/o male, 6’1" 245 lbs, 30-35% bodyfat, 43.25" waist. Middle of novice LP and losing roughly 1 lb / week on current macros.

Would a decent starting point be:

High Carb / Hard training days: 220 P, 295 C, 66 F (2,654 kcal)
Mod Carb / Light training days: 220 P, 245 C, 66 F (2,454 kcal)
Low Carb / Rest days: 220 P, 195 C, 66 F (2,254 kcal)

In TBAB, you were also moving protein and fat up and down (slightly); however, I am probably at the lowest level of protein you’d recommend already given my other info (already calorie restricted). Just looking for a jumping off point!

kind regards,
jordan

I would not recommend carb cycling for you. I would do the same daily targets instead.

Fair enough! At which point would you recommend these changes?

When your waist is <37"

10-4. Thanks again!
