carpal tunnel syndrome

Hello

The
When I wake up I feel extreme tingling and I feel a lot of needles going trough my index pointing and middle finger, after searching this online turn out I have some nerve damage in my hand nerves only aka carpal tunnel syndrome, and it can happen from lifting heavy weights with barbells, and I do that

Can this impact my performance?
Can this be treated at home on its own by doing nothing just letting it rest and eating ? Because I will not be going to the gym because of the coronavirus and so my hand will rest.

Last note : when I started lifting 1 year ago I promised myself I would never get an injury, never get a crack in my back, never have bad form, never do damage to my body
did I get injured ? Did I cause permanent nerve damage in my arms from gripping ? Did I damage my body ?

Please let me know and thank you very much for the amazing work.

Regards
